So I have to help several people logon and help them shop on Amazon. I have even helped them set up or create their account. So I thought I would make the a tutorial blog post on how to sign in and out from Amazon. I will even show you where to go to create an account on Amazon. As with any good blog if there is something you want to learn write me and I will make a post to teach you with screen pictures or better known as screen shots. Below is a screen shot of the homepage of Amazon with the sign in window open.

As you can see there is a lot on this window that can make sign in and sign out hard to find. Let me blow this picture up for you.

You can see sign in clear with the yellow button. If you pay close attention the New Customer Sign up is below with the Start Here blue text link. You should know that I would never design a login like this unless the owner of the website was afraid they would get too much business to quick.

If you want to start and account or create an account with Amazon click the link Start here. It will take you to this page.

You will go through the process of entering your name, email, and enter yourself a password twice to confirm you typed it right. After you fill out and click the create button you will need to go through the website challenge to insure that you are human and not a crawler bot trying to hack the site.

All of these challenges have different tests which is automated by a computer algorithm which insures security. They can be hard but it is better than the website getting hacked and your information stolen. Then there is a second verification to prove you have the email address and insure even higher security for your information.

Now check your email as the page states in very small print and enter the 5-6 digit One Time Password. Notice that it is a One Time Password. Many people do not read that and try to use old codes. This can make you frustrated and mad. After you copy and paste the code or write it down and type it end delete the email that was sent to you. That way if they send you another code you will not get them mixed up.

Amazon now has another verification code that they want to send to your cell phone or mobile number.

Thank was as far as I got on the setup for an account. I have one already so I will now show you a screen shot on how to login and log out of your Amazon account. You click the Sign In link as in the screen shot shown below.

This time to log in you need to click the yellow button or box and Sign In. It will take you to the screen shown below.

Enter the criteria that you want to use to sign in. If you are on a computer use your email. If you are on your phone use your phone number. After you supply the information to login you will go to the page that asks for your password.

Now you have created an account and signed in. Now to show you how to sign out. Remember where we found the yellow sign in button? That page after sign in and going to the drop down menu has changed in that it now has the logout link at the button.

Just above this text you see the orange Sign Out link that wasn’t there before you created your account and logged in.
